The Kitchen
Make chile de árbol salsa with me. Spoon it over eggs, tostadas, or straight from the spoon — you cannot go wrong.
Ingredients
- 8 tomatillos
- 5 dried chiles de árbol, stemmed and deseeded
- 3 large Roma tomatoes
- ¼ onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- Cilantro
- Salt
Method
- Boil the tomatillos, chiles, and tomatoes in filtered water for 10–15 minutes, until the tomato skins begin to slip.
- To a blender, add the onion, garlic, drained chiles, and 2–3 tbsp of the boiling liquid, and blend.
- Add the tomatillos, peeled tomatoes, cilantro, and a good pinch of salt, then pulse a few times. Buen provecho.
